Dry cupping is used to stimulate blood flow within the different layers of the skin. It can be used to detoxify the body by increasing blood flow in the tissues. It is also used for muscle pain therefore it can be utilized for tension headaches, cramping, tendinitis, and more.
Wet cupping: this is a more advanced technique that only acupuncture practitioners can perform. It requires the bleeding of a point or an area and then cupping. This technique is used after a traumatic event to the body or the muscles to drain out toxic blood to allow the healing process.
The philosophy behind this procedure is this: if the area is left untouched, it won’t be able to heal. Allowing toxic blood to stagnate will not only reduce the capacity of the body to heal itself, but it will also stop the body from healing itself. The patient will most likely become chronic which means the health issue will inger. Dr. Hillairet uses wet cupping to treat a wide range of dermatological conditions as well such as psoriasis, eczema, acne, sun damage, scar tissue, vitiligo, and more.
Cupping and facial: light cupping with silicon cups are used to stimulate collagen rejuvenation on the face. This technique is also applicable for cellulite.
